The Role
The role has responsibility for the management and delivery of the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) processes in support of Service Asset & Configuration Management.
This will involve working with CIS associates and customers across the University in order to ensure that processes are followed, that relevant reporting and documentation associated with the process is produced, and that informed decisions are taken in order to ensure the University is making the most effective use of its service assets. This will include vendor liaison, annual contract review/renewal, budget forecasting and sensitivity analyses.
The role will contribute to the design and ongoing roadmap of the Service Management toolset to ensure that Service Asset & Configuration Management is represented and the associated processes and procedures are correctly utilised.
The role requires an appreciation of ITIL V3 framework and lifecycle, a passion for process compliance, excellent engagement and communication skills, ability to motivate and coach staff along with a drive to ensure that IT service disruption is minimised at all times and that key business critical periods are protected.

*Recognised professional practitioner in Service Asset Management, managing the full software lifecycle through a variety of channels including external vendor portals.Implement changes to the design and development of service processes, techniques and deliverables for one or more service strands or project streams.
*Provide specialist Service Asset expertise and support with complexity of data and information sources, interpretation and analysis.
*Contribute to development of operational service activities to ensure excellence in the stakeholder experience.
*Collect and analyse stakeholder feedback to help define needs and requirements and the design and planning of services.
*Internal and external relationship development and partnership working, networking and participation to engage and influence future services and the University reputation.
*Identify and design activities to meet learning objectives and outcomes.
*Deliver training, teaching and/or development delivery for stakeholders.
*Maintain an awareness of current policy for University business goals such as widening participation and access, and provision of advice using specialist knowledge.
*Contribute to and lead business meetings, working groups and sub-committees at departmental and operational service levels.
Responsible for managing the CIS software budget including some capital items, keeping records and processing invoices.

Experience of providing specialist advice and guidance on software and licensing, to a range of customers and colleagues, including more senior colleagues.
Professional practitioner in Service Asset Management with knowledge and expertise used to contribute to the delivery and development of services, events and activities within the organisation.
