Digital / Online Marketing Assistant


15 - 20 hours per week (Job share)

Reporting directly to Marketing Manager, you will be developing B2B marketing campaigns to promote our products and services.

As a part of a small team, this role is a perfect opportunity to get involved with all aspects of marketing for the business (including writing, advertising, PR, events, digital, photography and creative). However, a strong emphasis will be placed on creating written content for the GWP website, external publications (press releases) and social channels.

Marketing Assistant responsibilities:

Daily you will be planning, creating and distributing press releases and building relationships with trade and regional publications. Writing copy for online platforms, including long-form blogs, product copy and articles. Other duties will include:
  • Ownership and management of social media channels, including content planning, creation and reporting.
  • Creating internal communications such as company newsletters and posters
  • Making changes to website layouts, adding new articles and general administration
  • Analysis of campaign performance, web traffic, email campaigns etc.
  • Creation of marketing emails, including messaging, list segmentation and reporting
  • Photography of products / samples (plus image editing)
  • Researching markets, competition, new product launches, trade shows etc.
  • Organisation and cataloguing of products & samples
  • Providing support for marketing events and exhibitions as required

Essential skills and attributes for the Marketing Assistant role:

You will have a sound understanding of marketing principles, particularly on digital channels and ecommerce. You will also have strong copywriting skills and the ability to communicate complex ideas

Other skills and attributes
  • WordPress, or experience of other online content management systems
  • Adobe Photoshop (other Creative Suite software an advantage)
  • Good attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience of managing social media presence
  • Dreamweaver / HTML / CSS

Advantageous skills and attributes:
  • A degree in marketing or related subject, or experience in a similar marketing position
  • MS Office
  • Understanding of SEO and PPC
  • Experience of Mailchimp or similar email distribution platforms
  • Strong admin and organisational skills
