Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £40,000 - £54,000

Contract: Permanent (35 hours per week)

Based within the Data Quality & Control team of a major bank, the newly formed Data Quality Development & Reporting team will remit to support the data domain teams in developments and projects to drive the enhancements to the current Data Quality model.

The Data Quality Development & Reporting team will responsible for developing new data controls, enhancing current data quality maturity, enable new and improved DQ reporting and supporting the increasing demands of data certifications, data quality projects and building the maturity of the DQ model.

Key responsibilities:
  • Investigate, design and develop business processes and technical solutions to meet customer's needs
  • Lead highly technical projects and development initiatives, including day-to-day management of priorities, workload, processes and systems
  • Deliver maturity improvements and efficiency gains to existing data domains using new technology.
  • Develop KPIs to demonstrate the contribution to the bank of delivered data quality improvements.
  • To represent DQ&C as the senior subject matter expert for the Big Data Ecosystem
  • To support transition of data and controls to new platforms, like Hadoop.
  • To support regulatory deliveries where data certification support is needed.
  • To support prioritisation of developments, capability assessments and outputs.
  • Standardisation of controls and implementation of a Data Quality Framework.
  • To re-engineer existing processes to automate and drive efficiency and reduction of manual effort

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
  • Excellent SQL skills
  • Knowledge of ETL processes and data/systems integration
  • Experience of Hadoop Ecosystem (Impala, HIVE, Data Science Gateways)
  • Experience of using Linux through Command Line, or the willingness and ability to learn.
  • Widespread knowledge of current core structural data.
  • Experience of implementing data controls at product, account and customer level.
  • Experience of managing multi-skilled teams and/or matrix management.
  • Ability to deliver data projects to a high standard and to required timeframes.
  • Ability to report milestones, status and outcomes to senior staff.
  • Ability to assess priorities and leading initiatives from initial idea through to implementation.
  • Professional and/or Post Graduate Qualification or equivalent, with a strong financial / data background.
  • Technical skills to be able to assess new technological tools for implementation for use to transform current toolkit.
  • Very strong MS Office Excel skills
