Our client one of the UK's leading metal recycling companies are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their expanding team.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Working within the yard to carry out repairs to all types of machinery in a timely manner.
  • Working with fixed plant including power tools and hand tools.
  • Working with Mobile plant, cranes, loading shovels, flt's etc.
  • Working with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Ensuring reported repairs are done within a specific time frame.
  • Carrying out repairs to some building infrastructure such as roller shutter doors, guards, gates and walk ways etc.
  • Some basic electrical maintenance work is also required.
  • Ordering and purchasing of parts that are required for specific jobs.
  • Ensuring to liaise with the depot co-ordinator to ensure that all purchases have the correct PO's and paperwork assigned to them, ensuring all job sheets and completed works are given to the depot co-ordiantor.
  • Using an in house system to view, sign off and add details about jobs that have been completed.
  • Identify and implement improvements and cost saving tactics where possible.

  • Ability to follow instructions and work to deadlines.
  • Previous experience with mobile plant.
  • Previous experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Basic electrical experience.
  • Computer literate to a basic level.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work from own initiative.
  • Effective problem solver with a calm and collected approach to work.
  • Good work Ethic.
  • NVQ Level 3 in maintenance or above.
  • NVQ In Electrics would be an advantage but not essential.

The Package:
  • Day shift - 7:00AM - 4:30PM - Monday to Friday.
  • £29,250 per annum.
