Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant - The Role:

Aspiring Teacher Required | Join the friendly and welcoming team at this Harlow Primary School in September and you can expect the highest levels of support and guidance on your first steps into a career in teaching.

Working as a Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant, you will receive training from experienced and outstanding senior leaders whilst gradually building your experience, skills and knowledge throughout the placement. As your ability develops, so too will your responsibilities of supporting students across Key Stage 2.

The role will see you supporting whole classes, providing one to one support and small group intervention support, you will be working with ranging abilities across Key Stage 2 and learn how to develop and deliver engaging, fun and stimulating sessions based on the national curriculum. You will gain an understanding of differentiation and lesson planning, how to track and deliver reports on pupil progress, and learn about behaviour management.

As you master the Key Stage 2 Teaching Assistant position, you will gain training on covering whole lessons for short periods of time and support the class teachers with lesson planning and preparation. Additionally, you will broaden your understanding of the day to day running of a school. By the end of the placement you will be fully prepared and confident to leap into your teacher training.
