Summary of role
An exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Software Engineer to join Raytheon UK in our Global Sensors Division based in Harlow. This is a senior role, reporting to the Engineering Lead for Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) with the successful candidate taking a key position on the ATMS engineering team. Good leadership and effective management skills are required to support a multi-disciplined team. Working alongside our customer and the wider Raytheon business. We are working on a number of projects, delivering a new system to our customers whilst managing legacy software delivered in a Waterfall delivery model. You will be involved in the full software development lifecycle of multiple programmes. Main duties of the position
A key person within the mission area, the objective is to lead and develop a multi skilled software workforce. To enable the team to deliver the ATMS software programmes to their best conclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
• Experience of senior customer liaison
• Experience of personal development for teams
• Experience of resource planning
• Engagement with multiple areas of the business including Engineering, Finance Business Development and Project Management.
• Identify and resolve issues related to tool, process and environment selection.
• Keep abreast of relevant technology changes and plan for new technology insertion.
• Support estimation activities.
• Involvement in the technical planning and management of projects.
• Define the scope and drive the strategy for teams.

Candidate Requirements
Essential Skills
• Experience working on Air Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) ,Power systems or systems of a similar high integrity
• Good knowledge of embedded software languages, toolsets and architectures
• Experience of ED-109A development requirements/processes
• Managing budgets
• Client Relationship Management
• Strong organisational and communication skilled both written and oral
Desirable Skills
• Experience in secure development techniques and tools that produce secure systems
• Leading large/dispersed teams
• Professional certification
• Understanding of virtualization (e.g. VMWare, Hyper-V)
• Experience of Agile/SCRUM delivery

Qualifications
Degree in Engineering or Numerate Subject desirable but not essential.
