Your New Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join a forward thinking business based in Darlington. This job opportunity would suit someone who is used to working within a fast paced environment and able to manage high volumes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Posting and allocating of cash payments on to both individual and bulk sales ledger accounts.
  • Processing and collating of regular invoice batch runs via the internal income processing database.
  • Monitoring and recovery of debtor balances.
  • Maintaining records and financial details.
  • Full reconciliation of cash and revenue variances as at each period end.
  • Maintaining sales ledger filing.
  • Dealing with business units and customer queries efficiently and promptly.
  • Diarising communications.
  • Various other ad-hoc duties as required to assist colleagues in the support of all financial dealings with internal and external stakeholders, i.e. banks, auditors, shareholders, employees.
  • Ensuring that all information of a confidential nature gained in the course of work is not divulged to third parties.

As the ideal candidate you will:
  • Have previous Sales Ledger / Accounts Receivable experience, or a passion to secure a role within a finance based role.
  • Have strong communication skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to build both internal and external relationships.
  • Be comfortable analysing data using Excel and keen to problem solve.
  • Have an understanding of finance terminology including, Accruals and Pivot Tables etc.
  • Be comfortable in chasing debt if no previous experience of this.
