We are looking for a highly motivated person to provide leadership and management to a data transactional team of up to 12 people in our friendly, well established Finance Service Delivery Accounts Payable team. You must have a flexible approach to work to support your team, management and colleagues and ensure daily deadlines are met. Our client expectations are high, and you will need to drive and support a team to meet these.

Job Responsibilities
  • provide support to the Finance Manager and the team to maximise the operations performance delivery and to increase customer satisfaction
  • liaise with key stakeholders at different levels and to build relationships with internal and external customers
  • work well with other Performance Leaders across the business to foster strong relationships, sharing resource and work on cross-site activities and objectives to meet customer needs
  • provide effective service delivery management of workloads to ensure daily targets and KPI's are met
  • provide regular performance feedback to your team members, tackling performance and attendance issues in line with organisation policy
  • lead by example across several areas including in providing excellent customer service always
  • ensure all finance transactional processing is performed accurately and review data using reports, spot checks and other outputs
  • show commitment to our Continuous Improvement programme across several key areas and display our values in everything you do.

Shortlisting Criteria

Essential:
  • GCSEs A-C standard or equivalent including Maths and English
  • an understanding of how financial transactions flow through a business from purchase to payment
  • good IT skills including MS Outlook and Excel
  • experience of using numerical and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present financial data
  • experience of working in a customer focussed environment and in accounts payable
  • knowledge of or willingness to learn Oracle finance system
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Desirable:
  • experience of working in a high-volume service environment operating to tight timescales
  • knowledge of our values.

Interview Criteria

Essential:
  • decision making skills to resolve queries
  • ability to listen and to ask questions to identify potential problems
  • demonstrable skills in training, coaching, upskilling, supervising and mentoring individuals
  • excellent interpersonal skills
  • as a strong, capable leader you will have previous experience of leading a large team preferably within a Finance Shared Services environment
  • strong customer service delivery focus
  • clear communication skills both verbal and written with knowledge of oracle, MS outlook and excel
  • strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present MI.

Desirable:
  • ability to respond proactively in a rapidly evolving environment and to manage change across the team.
