?For our Wirral based client we are currently looking for a talented and experienced Marketing and Communications Officer to support the Culture and Visitor Economy Team.

The purpose of the Marketing and Communications Officer is to support the delivery of an integrated marketing and communications strategy, as well as co-ordinate commercial partnership and sponsorship opportunities for our major events this year. Key within the scope of this role is to create compelling, well-executed and targeted content.

Duties and responsibilities of the Marketing and Communications Officer are to:
  • Provide professional public relations, communications and stakeholder engagement guidance, supporting the ongoing delivery of integrated marketing and communications campaigns promoting an ambitious culture programme.
  • Generating income through sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
  • Deliver high-quality communications and marketing activity which support cultural events.
  • Work closely with commercial partners and sponsors for their culture programme and 2019 cultural events.
  • Assist in preparing commercial sponsorship and partnership proposals.
  • Take responsibility for establishing relationships with new and existing corporate contacts.
  • Explore, identify and secure sponsorship opportunities which maximise the organisation's potential to generate income.
  • Liaise with key partners (internal and external) to develop new income-generating initiatives.
  • Manage and assist with brand activation at events and implementing benefits for commercial sponsors and partners.

This role suits a passionate Marketing and Communications Officer with an extensive, demonstrable track record of working in a marketing and communications role, with experience of collaborating with external partners and/or sponsors and working as part of team to deliver benefits for our commercial partners.The ideal Marketing and Communications Officer for this role:
  • Has experience of delivering high-quality marketing and communications activity.
  • Is able to work to tight deadlines and effectively managing conflicting priorities.
  • Has experience of delivering sponsorship benefits including brand activation and experiential activity.
  • Has experience of developing and managing sponsor and partner relationships.
  • Is able to work in confidence and make judgements on reputational matters in a sensitive environment.
  • Is able to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision.
  • Has the demonstrable ability and experience of working with and influencing colleagues at a high organisational level.
  • Has experience of working in local government and/or a political organisation.
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Is comfortable presenting to commercial clients.
  • Is capable of managing marketing processes from end to end - through research, positioning, message development and delivery.
