Body Shop Manager

Sutton Coldfield

£40,000 - £50,000 basic with £55,000 to £60,000 OTE

The main purpose of the position of body shop Manager is to ensure the smooth operational running of the body shop. Oversee the body shop and ensuring customer SLAs are met and maximising profitability.

A new accident repair group has recently been established across the UK which has ambitious growth plans alongside cutting edge technology and working practices. This company forms part of a larger entrepreneurial business group operating within the vehicle accident management, repair and servicing industry. They work with some of the most recognisable brands across the UK.

The key duties for the body shop Manager position will be:

·Establish and maintain control of, consistent workflow within the body shop through effective capacity planning.

·Deliver exceptional customer service.

·Meet financial and operational targets.

·Achieve and sustain CSI to target.

·Deliver excellent Average Repair Cost.

·Control costs by implementation of targets and guidelines as set by the Operations Manager and company policy/procedures.

·Plan resources and equipment levels around budgets and financial plans.

·Ensure internal controls/procedures are maintained to achieve targets as set out in operational plans, within area of responsibility regarding workflow and efficiency whilst maintaining quality.

·Optimum utilisation of resources within area of responsibility as set out in targets.

·Manage daily production co-ordination.

·Co-ordinate resources (internal and suppliers) to achieve targets relating to quality, customer care and costs.

·Recruitment and selection across all site functions.

·Responsible for Health & Safety requirements in all areas of the site.

·Implement an operational workshop loading system in line with company policy/procedures, ensuring all targets and deadlines are met or addressed.

·Implement training and development.

·Promote good communication throughout all areas of responsibility, develop and foster a pro-active attitude.

·Maintain accurate records.

·Management of body shop staff.

Skills & Qualifications Required for the position of body shop Manager:

·Technical knowledge and experience of the accident repair and body shop industry.

·Previous experience within a management position with the ability to lead and coach the team.

·Ability to organise clerical work, administration, control systems and financial resources.

·Relevant and up-to-date knowledge of vehicle design and manufacture, hopconsumer and vehicle legislation, industry and trade practices.

·Knowledge and understanding of the provisions of E.P.A. and C.O.S.H.H.

·Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
