Role: PR Account Executive

Salary: Up to £21,000 per annum depending on experience

Location: Sheffield

The role:
  • You are the first point of contact for clients on a day to day basis, and must be able to articulate and position the importance and value of great PR, best practice and of the agency.
  • Developing and maintaining an understanding of the client requirements, with support from the Directors.
  • Overseeing the implementation of all PR activity - further to direction from the Directors - including creating media lists; media monitoring; writing, selling-in; event management and evaluation.
  • Overseeing the implementation of all social media activity - further to direction from the Directors - across platforms including Facebook, Linked In, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram.
  • Supporting in the management of the expectations of clients regarding matters such as: likely results, turnaround time, corrections and approvals.
  • Preparing regular client reports and attending client meetings.
  • Developing project management skills: delivery on time and on brief.
  • Developing leadership and managerial skills setting objectives and overseeing work plans as needed.
  • Building relationships and networking with colleagues, clients and the media.
  • Working with line managers and directors to identify new business leads, support with pitches and client proposals - produce credential documents and written pitch materials.
  • Working under the management team to act as a support in potential crisis communication situations on behalf of clients.
  • Developing productive relationships with existing and new clients.

As part of the team you would work with the Directors in order to:
  • Identify areas for development and training by line managers, and in turn offer support to more junior personnel.
  • Ensure a good working relationships between your own team and colleagues, partners, suppliers and clients.
  • Ensure that all communications, reports, presentations and deliverables are of the highest standard meeting the commercial needs of our clients.
  • Gather insights that are valuable to our clients and a wider understanding of the relevant UK and regional markets.
  • Manage the agency social media feeds including LinkedIn and Twitter with input from the wider team - providing feedback with regards progress and success and driving follower numbers up on a week by week basis.

The successful candidate:

Will ideally have 12 months plus experience in a PR role either agency or client side. You will be proactive, driven and have a high attention to detail. You'll be comfortable working to tight deadlines and building/developing client relationships. We're interested in candidates who have experience in digital marketing that are keen to specialise in PR too, or graduates with a relevant degree looking to start their career in PR. A basic understanding of social media management tools such as Hootsuite is required.
