We are looking for a talented Accountant to join the SPXFLOW Shared Services Centre located in Didsbury, South Manchester. The Financial Accounting and Reporting team manages a range of controllership activities including executing the month end close processes in the ERP system (SAP) and consolidation system (Hyperion), preparing and reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and delivering external reporting commitments for VAT and Intrastat.

The Accountant role is the technical and customer service lead for the sites in the Financial Accounting and Reporting department. The Accountant role has responsibility for organising and managing team workload, ensuring high quality reconciliations are produced, identifying and managing balance sheet risk. In addition, gaining an understanding of the commercial drivers for the account balances through close liaison with the local finance teams is a key success factor.This role will be focused on projects and continuous improvement, driving standardisation of balance sheet recs and Intercompany aged item resolution etc. All of this is performed in a Sarbanes Oxley compliant environment, where upholding key process controls is an embedded part of the day to day operation.

To succeed in this role you will be a qualified Accountant ACA/ACCA/CIMA (or equivalent) or part -qualified and committed to completing your qualifications. You will have strong technical accounting skills with proven balance sheet accounting experience. Having reconciliation experience across a broad range of accounts is a given but you will also be able to show you have experience in understanding balance sheets from technical and risk perspective. You will have a continuous improvement mind-set and a passion for customer service. You will be IT savvy and have a good understanding of SAP or a similar ERP system and will be able to use your strong excel skills as a differentiator. European language skills are always beneficial but not essential.
