A world leader in cyber-security research and development, are actively looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join its ranks. The business provide network protection for automated payments, tactical and commercial communications, as well as encryption and network protection.

The business has had a significant increase in new product developments as well as new projects to be part of! The successful candidate will lead the Software development team in delivering multiple concurrent research, development and production projects.

As a Software Lead, you will be responsible for the design, development and delivery of Software for multiple projects to maintain a high quality software. You will work closely with the System and Software architects to ensure consistency and technical excellence.

Please note: Due to the nature of the projects you will be working on you must be eligible or currently hold SC or DV clearance and must be a UK national.

Responsibilities will include:
-Develop, mentor and lead a team of professional software engineers across embedded RTOS, Windows and Linux platforms in order to provide a capable and multi-skilled team.
-Provide technical direction and exert technical influence across multiple projects, such that the optimal approach, architecture, design, and toolchain are selected.
-Responsible for the design, development and delivery of software for multiple projects to ensure the delivery of high quality software.
-Work closely with the system and software architects to ensure consistency, design for modularity and re-use, and technical excellence.

Essential Experience and Skills required:
-Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related discipline
-Experienced in at least one of the following; embedded product development (including RTOSes),Windows and Linux application and driver development.
-Experienced in line management, resource management and implementing process improvements.
-Knowledgeable in software engineering practices, methodologies, processes, techniques and technology trends.
-Experience with DOORS, UML and SysML.

Desirable Experience and Skills:
-Analysis and Test Software Development (MATLAB, Labview, Python etc)
-EMC Compliance experience
