Head of Finance
We have a fantastic opportunity for the right person to join us as our Head of Finance . You will join our team based at IAPS Headquarters in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire, directly reporting in to the Chief Executive and working flexible part-time hours, around 40 - 50% of the full-time equivalent. Due to the nature of the role, it may be sometimes necessary to work additional hours during peak periods of activity. In return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, pro-rata based on the number of hours worked . The Independent Association of Prep Schools (IAPS) is a schools association with over 670 of the world's leading prep schools in membership. We educate more than 150,000 children from ages 3 to 16 and employ more than 15,000 staff. While most of our schools are in the UK, we have a number of schools in Europe, the Middle East, a growing IAPS community in Kenya and even schools in Singapore and New York. We believe that schools should be unfettered by government interference with fewer financial and other resourcing constraints, to ensure that their educational provision is tailored to the needs of the individual children. About the Head of Finance role: As our Head of Finance, your main objectives will be to manage the Finances of the Association and act as an adviser on financial matters to the Chief Executive. You will have the opportunity to visit IAPS Districts and Schools as the need arises and attend the Association's Annual Heads' Conference. Responsibilities and Duties as our Head of Finance: - Preparation of the budget, arrangements for the payment of salaries, handling of investments, collection of subscriptions and fees for courses, banking and payments to suppliers - Preparation of the annual accounts to the final accounts stage - Being aware of the tax implications of the Association's financial affairs - Ensuring that adequate financial systems and procedures are maintained and reviewed to meet the Association's needs - Implementing financial policy and the financial decisions of the IAPS Council, working under the guidance of the Finance Committee and its Chair - Attending meetings of IAPS committees as required, including but not limited to the Finance Committee, the Strategy Committee and the IAPS Council - Serving as the Secretary to the Finance Committee, preparing its work and following up its decisions. This includes preparing a full brief for the Chair of Finance in advance of meetings - Serving as a trustee and Secretary/Treasurer of ITrust. Maintaining accounts and financial records for ITrust and any other IAPS charities as agreed with the Chief Executive and the IAPS Council - Undertaking such other duties required by the nature of the post and as agreed with the Chief Executive What we are looking for in our Head of Finance: - Recognised accountancy qualification in ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA. - Experience working at a senior level within a Finance function - Strategic thinking - Experience of implementing financial policy and making financial decisions - Planning and prioritisation skills - Leadership experience and skill in managing and developing people to achieve high levels of performance - Computer skills and knowledge on office technology, equipment, printing techniques, etc. If you feel you have the skills and experience to become our Head of Finance then please click ' Apply' today!
