Procurement Specialist
An outstanding opportunity at a global, dynamic and highly respected global life sciences organisation, you will be expected to develop local/regional relationships with internal customers and suppliers.

You will also play a role in supplier management, working closely with local/regional suppliers to develop business relationships that help facilitate a more streamlined approach to sourcing while ensuring through negotiation that price competitiveness and high levels of service are maintained.

Location: Sheffield
Duration: 12 months initially
Rate: 15-17 per hour

Role Summary:
Ensuring accuracy of simple to moderately complex Statements of Work (SOW) and/or Contracts in accordance with established SOPs and processes.
Addressing inquiries and resolving relevant transactional supplier issues.
Providing requested services for market information and data.
Assist internal customers with budget planning and development of a detailed analysis of their requirements.
Negotiates both simple to moderately complex SOW and contract terms and conditions with local/regional suppliers to ensure optimum price competitiveness and service levels are maintained.
Provides procurement and business management, with statistical, general and financial information as well as regular status reports and metrics on procurement related activities.
Administratively manages and files into relevant supplier databases and other tools that support supplier evaluation criteria and supplier selection.

Required:
Procurement and/or Contract management experience with a large spend company, typically gained over 2- 4 years.
Sound knowledge of procurement principles, theories, concepts and processes.
Analytical, problem solving, reporting, and presentation skills.
Demonstrated strengths in supplier relationship building and conflict management.
Good process and understanding of project management skills.
Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) or appropriate Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply (CIPS) certification or equivalent qualification desirable but not essential
