Express Recruitment are proud to be in working partnership with of the East Midlands most reputable learning providers.

Due to growing investment and numerous funding in advanced learning programme and apprenticeship schemes, our client are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineering Tutor/Assessor to deliver full training programmes to their next generation of young talent.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Deliver and plan all elements of training programmes against national occupational standards up to NVQ Level 3 standards

·Deliver lessons and tutorials both on and off site including workshops, classrooms and natural venues

·Carry out site visits to employer workshops to assess and ensure that the facilities meet the curriculum standards, maintaining accurate records

·Provide a professional service to all clients and set high standards in all aspects of your work

·Deliver topics on welding, fabrication, sheet metal, architectural metalwork and some design work via theory and practical sessions

·Set extra curriculum assessments and training programmes when necessary

·Set assessments on how to assemble components using hand fitting techniques

·Instruct on how to safety operate and set workshop based machinery such as lathes, milling machines, surface & bench grinders, drills

·Maintain a safe working environment for all learners, and introduce ongoing plans to improve the overall Health & Safety of the workshop

·Prepare learning materials and programmes of study appropriate to the level required, ensure materials are store electronically on shared drives

·Review and feedback student performance against learning based grading systems

·Attend course leader and quality meetings as per required and set up action plans

·Conduct reviews and act as mentor providing support and challenge for the programme and pastoral support as necessary. Keep accurate records of all events.

·Ensure all training programmes are delivered to a EAL accredited standards

·Ensure Health & Safety and safeguarding procedures are adhered to at all times

Education and Qualifications

·City & Guilds/ NVQ/HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or similar

·A1 Assessor and D32/D33 Assessor qualification (or working towards)

·Previous experience working in a teaching/assessor role

·Excellent working knowledge of up to date NVQ curriculum and training programmes

·Competent IT software skills - AutoCAD, MS Office, Excel, ERP

·High quality communication and leadership qualities needed
