IT Strategy Programme Team Leader (Head of PMO) - Redbridge Council - £51,450-£54,597

Redbridge has an ambitious project portfolio for the next few years, and needs dedicated and talented people to deliver it. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead and shape the council's IT Programme Office, setting standards and establishing new ways of working which you are confident will deliver successful projects to the council. You will need to demonstrate a track record of successful project delivery and an understanding of what makes projects succeed, or fail, whether in the public or private sector.

Overall Role Purpose:

The IT Strategy Programme Team Leader is responsible for resourcing the delivery of the portfolio of IT programs and projects which promote the council's IT strategy. They are responsible for supporting the Council's IT programme governance framework and for tracking the business benefits of IT and digital transformation programs. They will negotiate with business managers the deployment of in-house resources or recruitment of temporary external resources to deliver projects. As the manager of our internal IT project resources and of contract staff brought in to deliver specific projects, they are responsible for their performance and their successful delivery of assigned projects.

Role Context

The IT service delivers projects initiated within IT and on behalf of business units. The IT Strategy Programme Team Leader will manage the prioritisation of projects and maintain the pipeline of work still to be addressed..

You need to have:
  • A project / programme management qualification
  • Substantial project management experience, including management of diverse teams
  • Excellent personnel management and stakeholder communication skills
  • Sound financial management skills
