Introduction

Wirral Council has launched its Borough of Culture programme, an ambitious and exciting programme of cultural events for 2019. This programme builds on the success of last year's Imagine Wirral cultural programme and involves events which will attract hundreds of thousands of people - both residents and visitors.

Adversa Recruitment are currently recruiting for talented and experienced marketing officer with a proven track history of working within communications to join our client, Wirral Council, on an initial 6-month contract.

Role Purpose
  • Provide professional public relations, communications and stakeholder engagement guidance to the Council, supporting the ongoing delivery of integrated marketing and communications campaigns promoting an ambitious culture programme.
  • Deliver high-quality communications and marketing activity which support cultural events.
  • To work closely with commercial partners and sponsors for our Borough of Culture programme and 2019 cultural events
  • To assist in preparing commercial sponsorship and partnership proposals
  • Responsible for establishing relationships with new and existing corporate contacts
  • To explore, identify and secure sponsorship opportunities which maximise the organisation's potential to generate income
  • To liaise with key partners (internal and external) to develop new income-generating initiatives
  • To manage and assist with brand activation at events and implementing benefits for commercial sponsors and partners
  • To support commercial activity more broadly within Wirral Council

Skills, Knowledge & Experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience of working in a related position
  • Experience of delivering high-quality marketing and communications activity
  • Ability of working to tight deadlines and effectively managing conflicting priorities
  • Experience of delivering sponsorship benefits including brand activation and experiential activity
  • Experience of developing and managing sponsor and partner relationships
  • Ability to work in confidence and make judgements on reputational matters in a sensitive environment.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and with minimum supervision
  • Demonstrable ability and experience of working with and influencing colleagues at a high organisational level.
  • Experience of working in local government and/or a political organisation
