Software Engineer / Software Developer / Software Programmer

There is currently a unique and exciting opportunity for skilled and talented Software Engineers to join the engineering team of a newly formed enterprise. We're looking for those whose passion is problem solving, and those who have a flair for learning new technologies quickly.

As a Software Engineer, we'll need you to be skilled in many areas and have experience in turning your hand to new challenges. One day you could be implementing an improvement to a tracking app; another day you could be updating the platform that powers the large-scale data collection behind the scenes. This is an opportunity to work with many different new and exciting technologies in a new and dynamic environment.

What technologies they use?
* The develop an Android and iOS app working in Java and Swift
* Platform is built in Node.js
* Git for version control with their codebase residing on GitHub
* Jenkins for Continuous Integration
* Their moving to the cloud; infrastructure is already largely in AWS and are planning to adopt tooling such as Terraform and Packer

* Using good domain knowledge of Android and iOS development to develop and grow our app; this will include also developing new apps for new customers.
* Working across technology boundaries to develop our platform capabilities
* Proactively identifying, suggesting and assisting in the delivery of improvements to ensure that the product and business moves forwards proactively
* Actively engaging in planning and estimation sessions for the product roadmap
* Contribute to the technical quality and timely delivery of the product; managing your own work and contributions to the product roadmap
* Completing tasks reasonably autonomously, taking feedback and guidance from peers
* Contribute to a positive work culture

Experience Required:
* 4+ years of software development experience in our core technologies (see above)
* Degree or above (or equivalent) qualification in Computer Science/Software Engineer or a related subject
* Experience in unit and integration testing, with practical experience in testing frameworks
* Familiarity with using continuous integration
* Proven track record in delivering software projects and adapting to new technologies
* Able to work with peers and colleagues to receive and deliver objective feedback
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills

* Experience with designing and building REST APIs
* Experience with AWS or another cloud technology
* Track record of implementing and adopting industry best practices
* Experience in configuration management technologies such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, SaltStack
* Experience in scripting languages (such as Ruby, Python, etc)
