Housing Support Worker
Peabody has an opportunity for a Housing Support Worker to join the team based in Witham. You will join us on a full time permanent basis and you will receive a competitive salary of £18,250 per annum plus 7x sleep in shift per month (rate per sleep: £ ). Epping Way provides support and accommodation for young people being referred through the Essex County Council gateway. The service accommodates and supports 16 & 17 years olds, Care leavers and some 18 to 21 years olds who are homeless or at risk of homelessness The Housing Support Worker role: The scheme provides support & accommodation to young people aged 16-21 years. The scheme operates 24 hours, 7 days a week, across 365 days per year (incl. weekends & bank holidays). The staff team work within a rolling rota which includes 1-2 sleep in duties on average per week. What we're looking for in our Housing Support Worker: We are looking for someone who has a flexible approach to work with great communication skills. You will also have a good understanding of the issues facing vulnerable young people; experience of working alongside individuals with medium-high support needs who present challenging & risky behaviours. A good knowledge of the benefits system and entitlements available to young people. You will be key working individuals, empowering them to build upon and develop their independent living skills, supporting them to move forward into independent ; The successful candidate will need to have proven experience working within supported housing for young people. It is also essential that you have knowledge of the different benefits available and experience applying for them.
