A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly driven, experienced 2nd line IT Support Engineer who is keen to build and own a small office network for the new branch of a previously well established, extremely high-profile business in the centre of London. This role would be ideal for an individual who is keen to prove and progress their knowledge and abilities, with serious career progression opportunities available.

The individual will primarily be in charge of designing, building, managing and maintaining initially a small business network remotely, providing first point of contact for any and all support requests, whilst becoming a core member of an established network support team at headquarters.

What you'll be doing:
  • Identifying the requirements of and implementing a new small business network which will steadily expand over time.
  • Becoming the first point of call for and owning the network and everything attached to it.
  • Travelling into London semi-regularly (Likely at least once per week for the first 2 months, with a potential to reduce to 2-3 times monthly, pending performance), whilst operating remotely from head office for regular days.

What we're looking for:
  • Excellent knowledge of Windows 7 / 10 end user support.
  • Excellent knowledge of Office 365 suite (desktop & mobile).
  • Experienced in using remote access tools to support end users.
  • Experienced in supporting PA staff juggling multiple calendars in a high-pressure environment.
  • Confident and professional phone mannerism.
  • Excellent time keeping skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent document writing and organisation skills.
  • Excellent face to face client support skills and professional mannerisms, with the ability to remain calm in a high-pressure environment whilst operating alone (with remote support available via phone for escalations and executive decision making when required).
  • Proven autonomy with the ability to self-prioritise important tasks.
  • Proven Intermediate networking skills and understanding of small network infrastructures, the ability to plan, build and patch a small business network from scratch.
  • Proven Beginner to Intermediate full gamut server administration abilities; Any experience with Hyper-V or other associated virtualisation technologies highly advantageous.
  • Beginner to Intermediate Office 365 Administration highly advantageous.
  • Beginner to intermediate experience with firewall concepts and policies highly advantageous.
  • Understanding of concepts and any practical experience of DR highly advantageous.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Cisco switch configurations, VLANs etc highly advantageous.
  • Discretion and professionalism is paramount.
  • Full & Clean drivers' license.
