Your new School
This Birmingham PRU school works closely with the Northwest network of secondary schools supporting pupils in local schools. The majority of pupils are aged between 11 and 13 with some aged 10 pupils encouraged to attend before starting mainstream secondary school. They achieved 'Good' on their latest Ofsted inspection. Their curriculum is personalised to reflect pupils' aptitudes and interests. This is important for all our pupils but particularly for those with the most complex needs. The pupils have lots of opportunities to get involved in activities such as Outdoor Education, Music, Drama and Sport. Your new job
This is a full-time teaching assistant role. You will be required to provide support to pupils with SEN and additional needs including Autism and dyslexia. You will be working with them to make the curriculum accessible and helping their progress. You will be doing a combination of small group work and one to one both in withdrawal sessions and in academic lessons.

What you'll need to succeed.
You will need to be able to demonstrate you have previous experience in a similar SEN teaching assistant role within the last two years and be able to confidently support students with special educational needs. You will need to be flexible and proactive be able to work collaboratively with other staff and parents. You will ideally be educated to degree level but candidates with experience and a relevant NVQ Level 3 will be considered.
