Salary starting at £28,000 per annum increasing within 12 months upto £30,000

20 days annual leave entitlement increasing with service

AM Recruitment Ltd are acting on behalf of our client to recruit a Trainee Sales Engineer. Our client is a well-established SME, they sell to over 50 countries worldwide, mainly into the materials handling sector and glass container industry.

This role will eventually involve extensive world travel, generally Monday to Friday, but the successful candidate may be required to be away over a weekend on occasions.

Essential requirements: -

·Graduate or Apprentice trained

-Mechanical Engineering Qualification (HND) / Graduate

·Excellent social skills

·Sales experience

·Computer Literate

·Good knowledge of Microsoft packages

·3 years plus experience in Mechanical Engineering background

Desirable requirements: -

·Second or Third language

·The ideal candidate will have a Mechanical Engineering qualification, either HNC or HND considered, so either a Graduate or someone who has come up from a Mechanical Apprentice and gone on to do a HNC.

·You must have the ability to read technical drawings, have an engaging personality and with training and development have the confidence to attend client meetings to build strong business relationships with existing customers and potential new customers.

Job Description:-

·Building and maintaining relationships with current, lapsed and new clients

·Gaining the understanding of clients' needs, which in turn will allow you to produce a solution to their problem

·Attending meetings with prospective and current clients

·Producing reports and feeding back information gathered from customer visits

·Will eventually involve considerable international travel, some of which will be outside of normal working hours.

·Targeting new customers as well as servicing existing clients.

·Visiting both OEM's and end users.

Salary will increase significantly once your overseas travel increases, you can expect to be away for up to 20 weeks of the year, once you have progressed and had extensive training.
