The Selwood HR Team are based in the headquarters in Chandlers Ford, Hampshire and the busy department supports the nationwide business in all matters HR, Recruitment & Training.Due to the continued success and growth of the business, the team are looking for a Training Coordinator to join the existing team to be responsible for the end to end coordination of training and to make sure every part of the training experience runs smoothly. This role will work alongside our Training Advisor/ Trainer to coordinate and administer training requirements to our nationwide branch network. With over 500 staff this is a very busy department so the ability to work timely and efficiently is a must. Our training programme's are diverse, ranging from small attendance courses through to courses covering regional areas.
It is essential for this role that the individual has previous history working within a busy training / scheduling / events management style of environment due to timescales involved in the work the department carries out. The role requires a positive, engaged individual with a "can-do" work ethos and who can demonstrate the flexibility required with undertaking ad-hoc tasks as required. High attention to detail is required as well as the ability to self organise own workload. This role sits within the HR department so high levels of confidentiality are required.Main Responsibilities:
  • Identifying, managing and evaluating training providers.
  • Liaise with training providers/training venues/hotels/caterers etc.
  • Source and book ad-hoc and regular training courses as required by the business.
  • Issue joining instructions to delegates and check for confirmations of attendance.
  • Ensure renewal of training and certification is completed at periodic intervals.
  • Co-ordinate and administer the LGV Driver CPC training requirements, managing the training providers as necessary.
  • Produce a Training Programme at regular intervals showing scheduled courses.
  • Organise scheduled courses.
  • Co-ordinate regular Company induction days.
  • Work with the Business Units to develop local induction training.
  • Source and allocate e-learning courses as required.
  • Produce training KPI's
  • Monitor effectiveness of training by follow up with Line Managers and Individuals.
  • Explore and develop the use of the Carval Training database.
  • Produce Training Agreements as required.
  • Check invoices against purchase orders and submit for payment.
  • Input new starters training records onto database.
  • Match existing training and qualifications against core training matrix for each role / person.

Qualifications & Skills:


  • Proven work history in a role which requires scheduling/organising activities with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of training requirements within the Construction industry, engineering, logistics or similar industries where there are complex training requirements.
  • Knowledge of Drivers training requirements - CPC and FORS training requirements
  • Standard of education to GSCE or NVQ L2 achieved
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to multitask and be adaptable in order to deliver the requirements to our stakeholders
  • Adapt to changing priorities whilst managing all work streams in a timely manner
  • Highly computer literate and a sound working knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Visio) and databases / E-learning platforms
  • Strong attention to detail, high level of accuracy
  • Outstanding professional communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to work under pressureSelf starter; able to work alone and with speed and precision, able to follow up issues and chase actions without prompting
  • Highly organised and strong administrator with the ability to follow and build upon our existing procedures
  • Flexible approach to work with some courses requiring early morning attendance to ensure smooth running
  • Working knowledge of databases and learning management systems
  • Experience of working in a training environment/event management
  • Working knowledge of the CSCS card scheme

Selwood are pleased to offer a competitive salary, 24 days plus Bank holiday, Pension Scheme, Company sick pay & Government Child Care voucher scheme.The Training Coordinator role will be based in Chandlers Ford, with occasional travel to Selwood branches, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week.
