You will be involved in mechanical design projects from start to finish, as well as interpreting the client specification and establishing the needs for manufacture. Your hands-on design and mechanical engineering responsibilities including checking and creating 3D models, general arrangement and assembly drawings, product test and design calculations. The role also includes processing orders and warranties as well as communicating specifications. The leading edge and challenging nature of these product-based problems make this a tremendously worthwhile environment. This is a place where variety and autonomy are coupled with product creation and realisation.
You will be a mechanical design project engineer with the ability to take on a variety of new projects, as well as developing a range of products and manage complex projects (several at any one time). You also need hands-on can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and an ability to organise, plan and prioritise core tasks. You also need to be able to create 3D models, general arrangement and assembly drawings, as well as creating and managing design documentation. An understanding of valve and highly engineered product design is also an advantage but can be developed through the excellent training programme on offer.
