Job Title: Senior Electrical Trainer

Location: Derby

Salary: £37,500 - £39,000 (dependent on qualifications and experience)

Duties include:
  • Working directly with the Training Manager to support a team of Lecturers / Trainers and deputising in their absence.
  • Provide ongoing support for the team and act as a Technical Lead for Electrical qualifications.
  • Carry out regular observations of teaching and learning with internal and external Lecturers.
  • Ensure delivery compliance and best practice.
  • Monitor quality of training packs and centre files.
  • Deliver Electrical / Electrotechnical courses and bespoke training in a group / classroom setting, as and when required.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of lesson plans, schemes of work and resources for delivery sessions.
  • Organise and maintain documentation on learners' progress.
  • Overcome barriers to learning and adapt delivery to meet learner's needs.
  • Keep up to date with changes within the Electrical sector.
Essential Criteria:
  • Experience in managing and supporting a delivery team.
  • Experience of delivering Electrical Training in all areas such as: Installation, Maintenance, Inspections, Testing etc.
  • Must hold a recognised Level 3 Teaching qualification (PTLLS / AET or above) and Assessor Award (TAQA, CAVA, A1 or D Units)
  • Must hold a Level 3 Electrical Engineering qualification (or above)
  • Hold, or willing to work towards a recognised IQA Qualification (TAQA Level 4, IQA, V1 or D34)
  • Qualified in IET Wiring Regulations
  • Strong occupational competency of working within low voltage Electrical installation, operation, maintenance, and testing.
Personal Skills:
  • Must be an excellent communicator who is learner and quality focused.
  • Confident and professional with the ability to inspire and motivate people.
  • Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
  • Must be flexible with travel.
