I am currently working with one of my clients who are one of the UKs largest most influential Automotive OEM'S in the UK. They are currently searching for a Diagnostics Engineer to join their team on a long term rolling contract basis
You will be based within the Marketing & Sales Operations team working onsite the production plant who are located in the South East Region of the UK with occasional trips to Germany

Base 37.5 hours per week with overtime available at premium rates after 12 weeks duration
£20.84 per hour Limited company / umbrella

Position Description:
  • SBD Diagnostic Engineer
  • This position is within Diagnostic Service Products (DSP) Group
  • The group deals with writing and maintaining diagnostic s/w on its Dealer Tools, namely, FDRS and EtisIDS (Symptom Based Diagnostics)
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for project managing the development of diagnostic procedures & tool software.
  • They will be expected to work closely with Core Body, Chassis & Electrical Engineering teams and Vehicle Program personnel, as well as the wider Customer Services Division and its suppliers
  • Work will include Current Model vehicles and Future Models diagnostic strategies and software.
Skills Required:
  • Use of Vector toolsets like CANAlyser, DET Tool or suitable CAN Bus equivalent.
  • Excellent, demonstrable, interpersonal, project management and communication skills.
  • Excellent PC Skills.
Skills Preferred:
  • Use of CAN tools like CANoe, Candella , Kvaser or equivalent.
  • Some experience of writing or using high-level computer software packages (eg. C++)
Experience Required:
  • Working knowledge of Electrical and Powertrain vehicle systems and architectures
  • Good knowledge of CAN Bus networks in vehicle systems and diagnostic messaging philosophy
Experience Preferred:
  • Working with an Electrical or Powertrain diagnostics environment
  • Experience of simulation, Yellow Board and vehicle testing desired
  • Experience of diagnostic authoring or programming vehicle diagnostics
  • Familiarity with any of these Systems WERS, Sharepoint, IVS (& GIVIS), OASIS, BSAQ, GCQIS and E-tracker.
Education Required:
  • Degree qualified
