SF Recruitment are currently looking for a Procurement Officer on a temporary basis in Birmingham.

Reporting to the Procurement Business Partner, the post will assist in the development and delivery of a proactive and flexible procurement service that is able to respond to the needs of the company whilst achieving value for money and ensuring procurement and payment activity is compliant with company policies, managing people and other resources in order to deliver priorities and objectives, or as otherwise directed

The Role:
- Provide procurement support, advice and guidance to services across the council and external bodies as appropriate
- Develop and deliver Procurement Plans based on service need and spend analysis, maximising the council's purchasing power to improve its competitive edge and to deliver best value.
- Undertake and manage procurement exercises from identifying need to establishing appropriate and streamlined ordering and payment processes ensuring compliance with legislation and council policies
- Manage corporate contracts, liaising with services and suppliers to ensure compliance and maximise performance
