We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repair work on a single site in Wellingborough. You will play a vital role in the efficiency, development and progress of existing and new manufacturing plant. As the maintenance engineer you will be responsible for the continuous running of all equipment and machinery, you must be multi-skilled and able to work independently and in teams to complete production maintenance, continuous improvement and fault finding. What you will be doing Ensure high production availability of machines on site Carry out planned preventative maintenance Ensure all breakdowns are repaired with minimum of downtime Pro-active out of hours response Carry out all work according to safe systems of work Maintain a safe and tidy workshop Record changes to electrical wiring diagrams Carry out routine scheduled maintenance work and respond to equipment faults Diagnose breakdown problems Fit new parts and make sure equipment is working correctly Carry out quality inspections on jobs Liaise with other engineering and production colleagues Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment Deal with emergencies, unplanned problems and repairs Experience PLC operation and fault finding Conveyor systems Motors Pumps Hydraulic systems Granulators Colour separators Hammer Mills Extrusion machines Air compressors Control panel modification Electrical installation of plant Power supplies and distribution Personal characteristics The capacity to understand a range of engineering functions and procedures Team working skills to work cooperatively and liaise with people at all levels Good diagnostic and problem-solving skills The confidence to respond positively when under pressure Fast reacting and diligent Able to handle changing priorities Conscientious, hard-working, self-starter In return a competitive basic is on offer, hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm.
