Job description

In this Technical Support Consultant graduate job, you will be supporting the sales and engineering teams, providing invaluable technical support and interacting with customers in order to resolve their issues and escalate any problems. To be successful in this role you will need to be personable, empathetic, adaptable, switched on, as well as technically-minded - as you will be dealing with a number of technical challenges on a daily basis. You will be working within a close-knit team and interacting with all levels across the business, liaising with customers in order to resolve a variety of technical issues.

Key responsibilities

In this Technical Support Consultant job, your responsibilities will include:
  • Leasing with customers via telephone and email to resolve any technical issues they are experiencing
  • Providing first line customer support for product training and non-technical support queries
  • Proactively spotting patterns in frustrations or hopes of customers and relaying feedback to the sales or engineering team
  • Helping the company become more efficient by streamlining processes
  • Understanding, prioritising and escalating customers' feedback and feature requests to the product team
  • Promoting the product development
  • Undertaking other ad hoc duties to fit the needs of the business

Job requirements
  • A 2.1 from a top 20 university - preferably in an engineering-based or technical degree
  • Some experience in a customer-facing role, hospitality, or similar
  • A passion for sustainability, engineering or technology
  • Some level of technical skills / knowledge - either an enthusiast or someone who gained exposure to technical themes within your degree
  • A flexible attitude, and someone who is both enthusiastic and conscientious
  • Being personable, empathetic, genuine and patient is a must in the customer facing role
  • Someone who is highly organised, adaptable and reliable
  • Fantastic communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Someone with a solutions-based approach to problems
