The company is bigger, more diverse and involved in more fascinating, cutting-edge projects than many people would imagine, and we now have an opportunity for a part-time Arts and Crafts Teacher in our Immigration Services Gatwick ; The role will be based at Brook House IRC however the successful applicant must be prepared to work at other locations within the Gatwick contract. As the largest private provider of Immigration Services for the UK Border Agency (UKBA), The company is responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for people being detained due to their immigration status. Its contract locations are situated near Gatwick Airport and can accommodate just under 600 male/female detainees with an ever-changing population. As part of its continuing development, the company is now looking for confident and approachable team players who are committed to providing a high-quality service. The successful candidate will develop and deliver a varied curriculum enabling detainees to participate in creative and engaging activities in line with contractual requirements and using a variety of mediums. As the Arts & Crafts Teacher your duties will include: Planning, develop and deliver a range of educational activities, using a variety of teaching methods and techniques so that the education offered is varied and interesting and meets standards specified within the contract. Planning and implementing both theoretical and practical sessions Providing advice and control stock to ensure the availability of relevant learning materials in line with budgetary parameters. Promoting the availability of relevant activities to all detainees to ensure sessions are fully utilised. Evaluating and reviewing sessions to ensure consistency and quality of learning offered and delivered. Coaching and managing paid detainee workers ensuring compliance and assistance is always within the educational environment. Managing the education environment in line with security instructions ensuring the security of equipment and contractual adherence. Assisting with the coordination of the overall education and activities programme to optimise the services offered. Assisting in maintaining a positive Health & Safety culture to support the recognition as a British Safety Council 5 Star business unit. To be a successful Arts & Crafts Teacher you will have the following skills and experience: Hold a recognised Teaching Qualification and/or have significant relevant experience, be comfortable working in a busy environment, be able to communicate at all levels and have good IT ; If you join the company as an Arts & Crafts Teacher, you can be sure that you'll find a secure, friendly and professional working environment and be given all the support, training and encouragement you need to build and develop a successful career. In return, the Arts & Crafts Teacher will receive a salary of £12, per annum.
