Assistant Merchandiser

Salford Quays

Salary: £16,000 - £18,000

Hours: Mon - Thurs 9am - 5.30pm, Fri 9am - 4.15pm

Working for an established marketing/creative company within the promotional products arena based at Salford Quays, my client is looking for an Assistant Merchandiser to expand their existing team.

This is an exciting job role where you'll be part of a fast-paced, dynamic support team, for an expanding company offering great career prospects.

The Assistant Merchandiser is a fantastic graduate level opportunity based in Manchester within an experienced and established team of Merchandisers. Supported by the team, this role provides experience across a cross range of skills. You will be involved with the project management of our client's stock ranges and the product selection should include innovative, margin efficient products. You will work closely with the Merchandisers, our Account Managers, Vendors and the Client to provide an efficient and commercially viable stock range that meets all requirements.

  • Identify client requirements and provide a professional and efficient support service to the Account Managers.
  • All internal stakeholders are communicated with at the appropriate stage of project delivery.
  • Effectively source, order, sample and present the product ranges to Account Managers ensuring brand guidelines are met this is either a new range or changes to an existing range.
  • Products should be in line with client brief, innovative, profitable and be compliant.
  • Work closely and build relationships with suppliers to offer unique innovative product solutions to individual clients.
  • Drive business to our preferred supplier network to help drive supplier rebates and reduce sampling costs.
  • Stock re-order levels to be agreed with Account Manager.
  • Obtain best pricing from approved supply chain and create a pricing matrix.
  • Monitor plain and branded sample expenses. Seek credits from suppliers where possible, build costs into the product.
  • Awareness of retail and market trends and apply to the sourcing on the account.
  • Set scheme up on BASYS including product set up, pricing etc.
  • Ensure a smooth transition of stock range to stock controller for future orders.
  • Manage and prioritise workload effectively, ensuring all project deadlines are met. Monitoring your time so that a number of tasks within projects can be managed at once.
