The Role:
You will be looking after the automated systems within our Distribution Centre (DC) on a day's role, helping with fault finding, leading process improvements and will be involved in the installation, repair and commissioning of new equipment. Besides your day-to-day activities, you will be involved in projects within the Burton DC. You will be a key part of a highly skilled team and thrive in delivering high-quality results and always be on the lookout for improvements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ability to problem solve PLC code and complex fieldbus IO
  • Understanding of Warehouse Control Systems
  • Experience either building, commissioning or problem-solving Electrical Controls and Instrumentation Panels
  • Ability to understand integrated MHE conveyor systems within the DC (MAAS & Schafer).
  • Understanding of Industrial communication protocols like ProfiBus, ProfiNet, Ethernet IP, and have the ability to problem solve & fault find
  • Experience of Barcode recognition technology
  • Experience Reading and Updating Electrical and Controls Schematics and Documentation, SOP's and VSOP's
  • Ability to recognise & identify system machine optimisation opportunities
  • Experience of Change Management processes
  • Experience of commissioning machinery
  • Experience working within Controls or Electrical Projects as part of a team
  • Support the Engineering Manager in project delivery and other activities
  • Ensure health, safety and environmental risks are controlled and minimised
  • Assist with compliance and statutory reporting
The Person:
  • PLC programming and implementation experience (Siemens S7, Allen-Bradley, Mitsubishi, Omron)
  • Project management, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • Good written, verbal communication and IT skills
  • Ability to be able to operate with minimal supervision
  • Experience of Day-to-day management of projects and improvement works including managing contractors
  • Experience of Permit - to - Work systems
  • Willingness to work in a fast paced and growing global environment.
  • Minimum of 17th Edition amendment 3 IET Wiring Regulations
  • Experience in a warehouse and / or manufacturing environment;

Beneficial to have;
  • Working knowledge / experience of Building Regulations and standards
  • Working knowledge of Machine Safety Regulations (not critical but advantageous) and Safe Working Practices
  • Experience working with Safe Systems of Work and their development
  • Experience in food manufacture
  • Experience in warehouse activities
