Role: Sub Contract Manager
Location: Barrow-in-Furness
Rate: £33.88 per hour LTD or umbrella
Duration: 6 months

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Sub Contract Manager to join a leading Defence Engineering organisation on an initial 6 month contract based in Barrow-in-Furness

In this key role you'll be working over three continents, to ensure that the right products are in the right place at the right time. You'll be coordinating material flow cross culture and will be the subject matter expect for the integrated project team.

This role will provide you with regular exposure to working with senior management, and the flexibility to build and maintain international relationships.

Duties and responsibilities include:

Providing governance and leadership to the integrated product teams responsible for key objectives on major programmes

Playing an active part in developing strategies that allow the WSUK and other company Businesses to make the right decision for the organisation

Understanding the customer requirement and development of the contract pack to be sent to suppliers at RFI, RFQ, RFP and Contract placement stages, included but not limited to; commercial and legal requirements, technical data pack, quality requirements, statement of work, schedules, risk, contracting for availability, incentive agreements, protection of intellectual property, international trading requirements (including export licenses, ATTs, ITAR)

Lead supplier engagement activity using appropriate tools and processes such as, quarterly business review, Relationship Management tool, Managing Major Subcontracts, Major Equipment Supplier Procurement, Performance Management Reporting Tool, etc.

Managing SSR's (Strategic Supplier Review's) and coordinate input into the business Contract Status Review process

Carrying out analysis of supplier data and market information in order to support business decisions

Skill set and experience required for this role:

Proven experience working within procurement as sub contract manager or similar role

Proven Supply chain leadership and management experience

Strong background in contract management

Ideally Degree level qualification in Procurement/supply chain or equivalent preferred. Membership or working towards Membership of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.

Good all-round business knowledge and understanding of cross functional business processes

Willingness to contribute to the effectiveness of the leadership team and to learn and develop within it

Self-motivated, able to work challenging deadlines and maintain a high standard of professionalism and workmanship

Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft office (particularly Excel) desirable.
