Job Purpose

As an IT Project Manager, you will support the Tech Ops, Development and CRM teams with planning, co-ordinating and delivering tactical and strategic projects. You will work closely with the IT Director to produce project plans and track progress against these, while maintaining a list of all project blockers, issues and risks.

Using your attention to detail and excellent numeracy skills, you will work with colleagues in Finance to ensure project budgets are monitored and forecasts updated. You will need to maintain a list of projects, their status and use your presentation skills to produce regular project update reports.

As well as a coordination and control role, the Project Manager will work closely with tech managers to develop business cases, project budgets and resource plans. Where needed, you will support the recruitment of additional project resource or external support through new and existing partners to deliver projects on time and within budget.

The Project Manager will be responsible for project governance in Tech, including the producing and maintaining templates that can be utilised by the business.

You will work closely with the Directors and PMO on the wider Tech Strategy, ensuring that projects are aligned to strategic goals.

You will also be part of an exciting transformation project that Make It Cheaper are undertaking to evolve its Salesforce implementation that supports the Sales and Customer services functions. You will be a pivotal part of this provide the project structure and governance for the project.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Tech teams to produce, monitor and update project plans
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, liaising with Finance to ensure there are monitored and correctly forecasted on regular intervals
  • Maintain an accurate list of projects, IDs and their statuses
  • Support the IT Director with the regular monthly review of project and operational Profit and Loss statements for Tech Budgets
  • Support Tech Managers with the monthly resource project allocation reports, including the calculation of the allocation of permanent resource cost to projects
  • Work with Stakeholders to develop business cases for tech projects
  • Advise business managers on project management best practice
  • Be responsible for the management and successfully delivery of one or more projects within scope, time, quality and cost
  • Maintain a log of risks, actions, issues and decisions for all projects
  • Work with internal Tech teams, external partners and suppliers to co-ordinate resource to delivery project objectives
  • Assist with the selection, evaluation and procurement of new services and products
  • Manage project change control process to ensure the full impact of changes are understood before proceeding
  • Maintain and add to a library of project document templates
  • Provide accurate and informative monthly updates to the Project Management Office (PMO) regarding Tech projects
  • Document and transition project knowledge into BAU teams to ensure new system processes are understood and maintained going forward
  • Support the alignment of projects with the wider Tech Strategy


Experience and knowledge required:
  • 3-5 years' experience in a project management role, preferable with information technology specialism
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools, techniques and standard practices (Prince2, Agile, SCRUM, MOSCOW, RAID log, Risk Management, Change Management, Stakeholder analysis, RACI matrix)
  • Practical experience of using JIRA and MS Project
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Experience of working with third parties and suppliers to deliver projects
  • Significant experience managing project budgets and skill to work with complex MS Excel workbooks
  • Demonstrable verbal, written communication and presentation skills

Desirable skills
  • Experience with Salesforce and/or Contact Centre platforms
  • Proven negotiation and procurement skills
