Support Worker – Oadby, Leicestershire Heritage Care is a charitable organisation that provides a range of flexible individualised care and support services for people with learning disabilities, mental health support needs and older people. We look to recruit people who both embody and share our values: People who always behave with integrity and who seek to inspire everyone they come in contact with. As a Support Worker you will need to develop warm and trusting relationships with people with learning disabilities to help them to lead fulfilling and independent lives. They all enjoy being supported to go out and take part in activities ranging from theatre trips to going shopping and going out for meals. One gentlemen is interested in carriage riding! As they all like to get out and about as much as possible it would be preferable if you could drive. You will need to have experience of supporting people in a paid or voluntary capacity. Excellent listening and communication skills and a positive encouraging attitude is a must. You will need to be able to demonstrate a good standard of written, verbal and numeracy skills as well as good basic IT skills. Most important is a genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities to reach their full potential. You will be required to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and possible “sleep-ins”. The benefits we offer include: 28 days holiday including bank holidays Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) Discount scheme with a wide range of retailers Refer a friend scheme No particular qualifications are required but the Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 2 or related qualification would be helpful.
