The role Working within the Finance department and acting as a business partner to Front Office and Investor Relations, you will be expected to foster good relationships across the firm, with external fund managers and with service providers in order to deliver for our investors. The detail The Senior Finance Analyst will cover a broad remit within the Fund Accounting team, requiring the successful candidate to take accountability for driving and delivering significant areas of work, applying excellent attention to detail and strong organisational, communication and team management skills. The Senior Finance Analyst will co-ordinate the Fund Accounting team's priorities, ensuring the achievement of team deliverables as well as effectively communicating with senior internal and external stakeholders. The role will also involve elements of resource management and team motivation, with potential for line management responsibilities. Key responsibilities of the Senior Finance Analyst • Managing the Fund Accounting team’s priorities and ensuring timely delivery of high-quality outputs • Informing, influencing and facilitating strategic decision-making through effective communication with senior stakeholders within Fund Accounting, Finance and the wider firm • Senior reviewer of key Fund Accounting deliverables including investor cashflows, quarterly and audited fund accounts, and cash management • Setting expectations, monitoring progress and providing feedback to junior team members • Potential to take on line management responsibilities for junior team members Key responsibilities of the Fund Accounting team Treasury Management • Maximising returns to investors through effective cash management, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet all funding obligations. This requires continuous liaison with the Investment and Execution teams to follow deal progress as well as collaboration with banks and our Fund Administrators • Delivering the Firm’s FX and Leverage strategies by executing FX trades, loan drawdowns and repayments • Reviewing cash projections to ensure returns are maximised through the optimum timing of investor call and distributions Reporting • Partnering with our Investor Relations team to produce insightful manager’s reports and Limited Partner meeting materials summarising the position of the funds, recent investments, and current market trends • Reviewing quarterly fund accounts (prepared by our Fund Administrators) to deliver high-quality and accurate accounts which reflect recent investment activity, meet disclosure requirements and are appropriately presented • Managing the delivery of our annual audited fund accounts by co-ordinating with our Auditors and Fund Administrators as well as gaining information from our Investment and Finance Teams • Delivering regular reporting packs to senior management which are used to drive strategic decisions The candidate At Coller Capital, the key to our success is the efforts and skills of our people. Essential • 2 - 5 yrs Post-Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) • Strong prioritisation and organisational skills • Excellent attention to detail • Strong communication skills • Proven track record of ownership and delivery of tasks • Strong MS Excel Desirable • Experience within a PE firm/Asset Manager or in one of the Top 10 firms • Success in senior stakeholder interaction • Line management experience • Experience working alongside Administrators/third party providers • A level Maths, grade A or above • 2:1 degree or higher • First time passes in professional qualification • Strong written skills Competences • Excellent communication and people skills, to create, develop and maintain strong business relationships with internal and external stakeholders • Team-oriented individual, with the ability to motivate, challenge and develop others • Ability to work collaboratively in a growing, fast-paced environment and to manage and deliver multiple competing priorities within deadlines • Ability to take responsibility for significant areas of work, showing an accountable and proactive approach and ensuring delivery of all Fund Accounting deliverables • Strong impact and influencing skills which can achieve results in a positive manner • Ability to assimilate and adapt quickly to new knowledge and concepts • Comfortable in developing change and dealing with the unknown • Innovative thinking with ability to generate and voice new ideas to help improve processes • Maturity to regularly step back from the detail and appreciate the bigger picture
