Are you ready to lead a change in Social Care? Registered Manager at Specialist Autism & Behaviour Centre iMap are opening a Specialist Autism Behaviour Support Centre, a unique model in Social Care. iMap - individuals making autism positive, are an established support provider within the Cheshire area who have a strong commitment and ethos towards increasing the participation of children, young people and adults with autism in all aspects of living and learning. Our Specialised Autism Behaviour Support Centre is based in the beautiful rolling plains of Cheshire, near Frodsham. This service is for up to nine children aged 8-18. You will be responsible for ensuring that all the children and young people receive the highest possible quality care and support. Working with iMap’s strategic and therapy teams you will design and oversee the development of a unique service. You will also have the chance to assemble your own staff team, including Senior Behaviour Support Workers. This is a large project and you would have the support of the Directors and a multi award winning office team to ensure that all goals are met. Working as part of iMap’s Senior Management Team, we welcome candidates who can demonstrate a strong positive work ethic, outstanding leadership skills and an ability to motivate and inspire both staff and children to reach their ; Hours: Full time ( a week) Salary: £40,000 (plus bonus scheme) Key roles and responsibilities: To be registered with Ofsted and as such, be legally responsible and accountable for the effective and safe running of the service. To deliver high quality care to the children and young people within the service. The Registered Manager is responsible for all care services, strategic planning and the day to day management of the service. To maintain and expand on the well-established principles and practice standards which exist within the iMap organisation whilst proactively contributing to the continuous improvement of childcare. To act as an effective practice leader by monitoring the quality and professionalism of the deputy manager, senior behaviour support workers and behaviour support workers. They must offer guidance and mentorship in those circumstances where practice does not meet required standards and provide positive feedback and support, so that excellent practice may be maintained. To be able to demonstrate values-based leadership and ensure that staff members are at all times upholding iMap’s key principles of understand, empower and aspire. They should be able to apply these in practice ensuring that all staff function as a cohesive team. This is essential for the effective implementation of the service’s positive behaviour support framework and human factors approaches. To be responsible for ensuring an appropriate staff presence in order to meet the childcare needs of the children and young people within the service. To work alongside iMap’s lead behaviour therapist on specific behaviour related research projects so that the service can excel as a centre which sets evidence-based best practice. To support all young people and children within the service in their education in conjunction with the teaching staff. To participate in iMap’s out of hour’s on-call management service. To work effectively as part of a multi-agency planning team to meet service users need and maintain contact with a wide range of outside professionals, such as general practitioners, dentists therapists etc. The Registered Manager will be expected to assist as part of the assessment and complex case team. Act as a mentor to support the deputy manager and senior behaviour support workers in provision of best possible childcare and behavioural practices. Implement and maintain iMap’s underpinning philosophies and practice framework, ensuring that care standards are never compromised, as well as ensuring that all of iMap’s policies and procedures are implemented appropriately. In order to achieve the best outcomes for all children and young people who use the service the Registered Manager will ensure that the home is managed effectively and efficiently and is maintained in a warm, caring and homely manner. This will also include ensuring that all staff are focused on providing the best possible childcare for the children and young people within the service. The successful candidate will have outstanding communication skills and the ability to foster a supportive and positive work environment for all staff. Extensive theoretical and practical knowledge of positive behaviour support and interventions relating to behaviours of concern. (Successful candidates will be expected to complete a NVQ IV Positive Behaviour Support). The successful candidate will have 4 years’ experience supporting people with autism, learning difficulties/disabilities who may display behaviours of concern. The successful candidate will have 4 years’ experience in a leadership or managerial role registered with Ofsted.
