Portfolio HR are currently recruiting for a HR Manager (Generalist) position based in South London, this is to work for a FMCG business. Candidates are expected to run a sole HR generalist process for a small family run FMCG business.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all HR responsibilities for both multiple business sites.
  • Ensure that the culture and values of the businesses are promoted throughout.
  • Clear human resources vision in the generalist aspect
  • Responsible for recruiting staff - including developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates.
  • Responsible for keeping the staff handbook up to date with all employee relations cases and employment law information adhered to.
  • Dealing with staff requirements, acting as their first point of contact (for example, trade union officials) on certain issues.
  • Support the Managers in dealing with grievances, disciplinary issues, absences and lateness.
  • Developing HR planning strategies which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements, according to the needs of the business.
  • Oversee an effective appraisal system that is of benefit to both our employees and the business.

Skills:

  • CIPD Qualification/Equivalent
  • The hours of work are from 8.30am-5.30 Monday-Friday and you may also be required to work some weekends.
  • Attention to detail and organisational skills
