Residential Childcare Assessor

Lewtay Training are currently looking to recruit a Residential Childcare Assessor to join their growing team in Peterborough. This opportunity is available for a candidate who is already fully qualified or a candidate with experience within Residential Childcare who is looking to take their first steps to becoming a qualified assessor. Full training will be given to trainee candidates to achieve their assessors award.

What you need to be become a Residential Childcare Assessor:

  • Have worked within Residential Childcare for at least a year
  • Hold a qualification up to Level 5 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
  • Confident in the delivery of Maths, English and ICT up to Level 2
  • Full, clean driving licence and use of a vehicle.
  • Must be flexible with travel

Duties for a Residential Childcare Assessor:

  • Assess learners in their workplace using a range of assessment methods
  • Use an array of delivery techniques, this could include 1-2-1 support, group workshops and remote visits
  • Provide constructive and developmental feedback to learners
  • Ensure all learners records are maintain and compliant with ESFA and Ofsted requirements
  • Engage with employers, promoting the Lewtay Quality of Service to support all current and future learners.
  • Provide additional support for any learners with additional needs
  • Maintain up to date progress reviews for all learners with constructive feedback to employers building successful working relationships
  • Attend regular team and standardisation meeting
  • Work closely with the assessment and internal quality team to support colleagues whenever possible
  • Work alongside to the business development team to help grow the business within Residential Childcare

What would be desirable:

  • Recognised Assessor award: D32/D33, A1, or CAVA.
  • Recognised Verififer Award: D34, IQA, TAQA
  • Experience of delivering Apprenticeships in Residential Childcare up to and including Level 5.
