Aspire Cambridge are recruiting for a Junior C# Developer on behalf of our client based in Cambridge.

Our client is a technology firm specialising in systematic and adaptive trading systems. They operate the technology behind a 100% systematic hedge fund, as well as providing solutions and project work for wider clients. They are a small but growing team – and it’s an exciting time to be part of the team, with great opportunities for development as they expand. They are looking for a talented C# developer with a good understanding of software architecture and design. Knowledge of trading systems is beneficial but not a requirement, and this is a great opportunity for anyone who wants to advance their career and gain experience in the financial sector.

The role involves designing, developing, testing and supporting algorithmic trading systems and other applications. Examples include:

  • Developing software driven trading strategies
  • Continuous improvement of the core trading platform
  • Building connections to new brokers and data feeds
  • Creating tools for analysing trading performance and comparing new strategies
  • Developing web-based UIs to monitor and control our systems

It’s a mixture of greenfield development and extending / improving existing systems. There are plenty of opportunities to collaborate on design, to lead projects, and to make a real difference. This is a role for someone who enjoys having an input into every aspect of the software development process, who likes to share ideas and seek creative solutions, and above all for someone who likes to get things done.

Required skills:

  • Excellent C#
  • Good understanding of software architecture, object-oriented design
  • SQL (ideally MySQL)

Desirable skills:

  • Unit Testing (Nunit / MSTest)
  • Javascript
  • PHP
  • MSMQ, RabbitMQ
  • Git

Start: ASAP
Location: Cambridge, Cambridgeshire
Hours: Full Time, Flexible 40 hours per week
Salary: £Negotiable + Bonus (up to 50%) + Excellent benefits package
