We are currently targeting emerging talent in the area of UK Social Policy to join our reputable and established Policy and Research team delivering impactful research and evaluation.

Our work ranges from supporting local client needs, through to large-scale National, European and International research, monitoring and impact evaluation working for a variety of public sector and voluntary sector clients. We work across a range of policy areas including education, employment, children, young people and families, health and wellbeing.

Research Managers support in the winning and delivery of mixed method research, evaluation and consultancy projects within the Policy and Research Team working across one or more markets (UK policy, European social policy, International development).

This role provides an opportunity to develop a career in research, evaluation and consultancy services with a focus on qualitative methods, quantitative methods and evaluation. This is a full time role based in one of our UK offices.

Role Responsibilities

  • To provide high quality research and consultancy inputs to a range of research, evaluation and consultancy projects for a range of UK public sector clients and charities
  • To work across one or more of our core policy areas listed above
  • To work across our portfolio of UK market work
  • To design and implement mixed method research and evaluation projects
  • To undertake qualitative research, such as conducting desk based research and literature reviews, designing tools and conducting and analysing case studies/depth interviews/focus groups
  • To provide quantitative research inputs including designing, implementing and overseeing data collection, and data analysis of smaller or larger scale data sets
  • Working with surveys, including handling sample frames and working with our in-house survey team in designing, implementing and analysing surveys (postal, web, face to face, CATI)
  • Designing research/evaluation frameworks and tools, theories of change
  • To project manage smaller projects or parts of larger projects under the guidance and supervision of Project Directors or other senior staff, keeping oversight on timescales, deliverables and budget
  • To produce high quality analytical outputs and written reports/outputs, and present research findings effectively. This includes contributing to a range of outputs such as blog posts, articles, social media postings, newsletters, good practice guides
  • To actively contribute to EOI’s/PQQs and full proposals/tenders/bids and pitches for prospective clients, in response to invitations to tender
  • To have good commercial awareness and appreciation of the environment in which Ecorys UK works and contribute new ideas for future development of the UK market
  • To liaise with other teams in Ecorys and other operating companies within Ecorys group effectively

To be an active member of the team, contributing ideas, suggestions and taking part in training and team meetings and events

Role Requirements

Essential

  • First degree and post graduate degree in relevant subject or equivalent experience
  • Professional experience in research
  • Commercial awareness
  • Demonstrable experience of effective project management
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience of the design/implementation of quantitative and/or qualitative research
  • Flexible, enthusiastic and proactive approach to work
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Able to contribute to winning new work for the company towards an agreed target.
    Desirable
  • Recent experience of working in a consultancy or research environment
  • Knowledge of the UK policy and market environment
  • Highly competent in use of relevant software packages (incl. Excel, R, Stata, SPSS, NVivo)
