RG226 | Maintenance Engineer / Engineer Supervisor | Penrith | Rendering factory | Fulltime | Salary up to £37,000 per annum
Tailor Made Sourcing are looking to recruit engineers to join their clients rendering factory in Penrith, Cumbria.
Due to the rapid expansion of the factory, numerous Shift Engineers and Engineering Supervisors are required to support the efficiency of the production lines by providing both planned and reactive engineering solutions.
The successful candidates will report to the Engineering Manager and will help shape the Engineering Department in order to support the expansion of the factory. You will be required to work a shift pattern that covers days, nights and weekend work. You will need to be able to demonstrate a pro-active flexible approach to work, excellent communication skills and the ability to work alone as well as part of a team.
Maintenance Engineer role:
· Liaise with production shift supervisors and managers to support the identification of potential issues, working to minimise downtime.· Responsible for the planned and reactive mechanical and electrical maintenance.· Carry out planned overhauls and maintenance tasks.· Carry out Root Cause Analysis in the event of breakdowns and failures.· Assist in developing the maintenance strategy.· Responsible for health & safety of the work environment ensuring site safety standards are adhered to at all times, leaving work areas clean, tidy and safe after works are completed.· Liaising with the Engineering Administrator to ensure sufficient stocks of spares are available.· Assist external contractors with installation works in providing advice and support as required.· Liaise with production supervisors and managers to agree and schedule any works required, gaining permission to proceed and ensuring all required permits are in place prior to commencement of works.· Be responsible for maintaining service and quality standards.The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor will be required to carry out the above and:
· Lead and develop the Maintenance Engineers carrying out in house training as required.· Identify skill shortages with Maintenance Engineers and work with the Engineering Manager to rectify these shortages.· Identify opportunities liaising with production to carry out planned and reactive maintenance as required.· Carry out tool box talks with the shift engineers.· Identify ways to improve the Department and maintenance strategy to be able to cope with the factory’s expansion.· “Walk the patch” to identify equipment that needs attention before a breakdown occurs.· Ensure site GMP standards are strictly adhered to and maintain a “clean as you go” practice within your teams.
It is preferred that applicants have:· Previous experience in an engineering role in a manufacturing environment.· NVQ level 3 in Engineering.· Good communication skills.· Keen eye for detail, able to identify issues and escalate appropriately.
It would be beneficial if applicants have:· Knowledge of PLC fault finding.· Welding & fabrication experience.
