Our client is a leading UK medical manufacturer and distributor that provides a trusted range of solutions to support all stages of the decontamination process. They are a global leader in innovative instrument processing and central sterilisation products with over 5000 products.

They are now looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team and report into the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operating sales and purchase ledger modules of accounting package (Exchequer)
  • Input of purchase invoices, filing of documents, reconciling statements
  • Policing of the adherence to the Purchasing policy
  • Preparing supplier payments for sign off and then preparing BACS run
  • Use of Internet banking, including setting up payments and beneficiary detail changes
  • Reconciling daily bank statement in multi currencies
  • Control of sales ledger including credit control, preparation of statements etc.
  • Posting customer remittances to the system, deposit of cheques to the bank, by post
  • Liaising with Experian credit insurers, updating customer credit limits
  • Planning and ordering foreign currency for supplier payments
  • Analysing cash and assisting with the monthly cash forecast
  • Control of petty cash
  • Control of staff company credit card, including reconciling and expense claim chasing
  • Staff expense claim checking and payment
  • Assisting with the annual financial audit and stock take
  • Archiving records as required
  • Other adhoc duties as requested

Key Skills/Experience:

  • Good numeracy skills to at least Maths GCSE grade A or AAT level 1
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work to strict deadlines
  • Able to forward plan and prioritise
  • Good communication skills at all levels
  • High level of integrity, honest and trustworthy
  • A good understanding of business risk
  • Ability to use accounting software and MS Excel and Word to intermediate level
