Becoming a Commercial Manager with Capita Local Government:
A fantastic opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to secure an initial 6 months contract based in Sheffield. The role of the Commercial Manager will be to provide competent and enthusiastic support to the Commercial Director and wider Partnership team. The Commercial Manager will support in identifying and managing commercial risk and opportunity in relation to the exit management activities under Capita's Partnership Agreement with Sheffield City Council.
What you will do:
Manage the commercial and contract management aspects of the Partnership Agreement
Liaise with internal and external legal representatives in relation to claims from the Council or counter claims from Capita
Manage day to day negotiations with Council staff on 'business as usual' commercial matters
Support from time to time in development of new IT project propositions and support the handover of any in-flight projects at the point of termination.
Liaise with internal legal teams to support Commercial Director on the more complex aspects of contract review and contract changes
Engage in the standard project review process, supporting the commercial management of change both to the Partnership Agreement and the Exit Plan
Your experience will include:
- Excellent knowledge of the IT and BPO outsourcing sector
- Familiarity with Public Sector procurement regulations and practices
- Commercial acumen, knowledge and in depth understanding of software licensing and IT projects
- Ability to follow through and deliver required changes to commercial practice in conjunction with the Commercial Director, Partnership team and Service Leads
- Strong contract analysis skills and an understanding of fundamental contract mechanisms commonly found in service contracts
- Demonstrable experience in commercial and cost management within the outsourcing sector.
