Platform Resourcing are currently working with a Food Manufacturing business who are as passionate about their people as they are their products. Due to expansion within the engineering team they are now looking to increase headcount and to recruit two qualified Multi Skilled Shift Maintenance Engineers for this site based in the Torfaenarea, South Wales.

They are looking for an ambitious Multi Skilled Technician with an Electrical Bias who is seeking a challenging and rewarding role. Successful candidates will provide a timely and effective engineering service to the production team whilst ensuring safety, quality and hygiene standards are met. If successful you will be entitled to a market leading salary, pension contribution scheme, 25 days holiday per year, free parking and use of the onsite canteen. Commutable from Newport, Cardiff and the Surrounding areas.

Duties and Responsibilities

Proactive in preventing equipment failuresImproving overall equipment performance by generating/implementing ideas and modificationsProvide a service that meets agreed service levelsMinimising downtime and communicating effectively with relevant personnelUse of CMMS (computerised maintenance management systems) ideally SAPCarry out planned maintenance activities as scheduled by the maintenance plan contained within the CMMSAttend and repair breakdowns as requiredReport all actions carried out and any further actions required, via the CMMSReport in a comprehensive manner via the CMMSTo report all work activities carried out on a daily/shift basis via the CMMSProvide a service that meets food safety standardsMaintaining standards of housekeeping and hygieneMaintain and help improve health and safety standards to ensure a safe environmentCooperate with and work alongside external contractorsUndertake training as required to further enhance individual’s skills and knowledgeIdentify performance issuesImplement appropriate and pragmatic performance solutionsUse of problem solving skills, tools and techniquesReduce allocation of the labour and skills available by being flexible in terms of work scheduling within the teamTo correctly prioritise the work load for the overall benefit of the site performanceEducation, Qualifications and Experience Required

HNC (or equivalent) or higher in Electrical Engineering is essentialTime-served with electrical bias to NVQ level 3 (or equivalent)Proven experience of working with AC InvertersFamiliar with TPM principles including 5S. Use of CMMS (computerised maintenance management systems) ideally SAP, but not essentialPost apprenticeship, preferably in a high speed, high volume manufacturing environmentMust have a proven ability in diagnostic fault finding under pressure of productionMust have proven experience in PLC Control systems, and PLC fault finding experienceSalary: £32,000 - £34,000 p/a
