Managing our aftermarket Road Equipment team you will ensure effective Service and Sales Support, in line with customer requirements. This will be achieved through efficient management and coordination of all available resource and a sound understanding of customer needs. Key Responsibilities of the Role: To provide high value, cost effective Service Support to our customers through effective coordination of all labour, materials and any other resources. To effectively manage the Road Equipment team. Manage any product technical campaign activity ensuring timely completion. Recording and logging of defects to provide accurate information which can be used to improve the product. To deliver on targets through optimising resources using Engineers to identify Service and Parts revenue opportunities and build customer relationships. Negotiate out of warranty settlements with customers, with both a technical and commercial approach. To carry out visits to customers to follow up on service reports and to prepare and submit estimates and follow up as necessary. To prepare Risk Assessments, and Method Statements when required. To carry out or assist in carrying out staff / Engineer appraisals. Work in accordance with SMT GB standards of health, safety, quality and environmental care. Any other duties that may be reasonably requested by your manager. Desire and ability to manage people. Ability to work under pressure. Integrity. Aftermarket processes experience. Customer experience/understanding. Negotiation skills. Computer literate particularly in MS Office. Education / Professional Qualifications required for the position: Formal apprenticeship in Construction Equipment or proven experience. Formal qualification - iOSH, NVQ, City & Guilds, ONC, etc. Full driving licence and good driving record.
