Job Description

South Lanarkshire Council administers the recruitment process on behalf of Lanarkshire Valuation Joint Board.

Who we are

Lanarkshire Valuation Joint Board is an independent public authority established by The Valuation Joint Boards (Scotland) Order 1995.

What we do

Provide a professional valuation and electoral registration service for both North and South Lanarkshire council areas in respect of the compilation and maintenance of the Valuation Rolls, Valuation (Council Tax) Lists, and Register of Electors.

To provide high quality, effective and responsive services to all of our stakeholders.

Who we are looking for


Current Salary Grade 1 Level 1 (£17,008) - Grade 1 Level 4 (£20,000)
Your responsibilities will be to undertake the survey and measurement of both non-domestic and domestic properties throughout the joint board area under the direction of qualified personnel.

You will prepare survey reports and assist staff in the valuation of properties for Non-Domestic Rating and Council Tax banding purposes. The post requires that you will work towards an HNC in General Surveying, or equivalent.

The successful candidates will be enrolled on the Construction Management (Part Time Day) HNC course at the City of Glasgow College. Please note the start date for this course is 26 August 2019.

Upon completion of the qualification and training, you will progress to the position of Technician, current salary range Grade 2 level 1(£20,876) - Grade 3 Level 2 (£32,957).
