Job Title: HSE Advisor Type: Permanent Location: Glasgow Salary: £Negotiable + Generous Benefits Scheme The Company My client is a civil engineering contracting business with projects all over the UK and an annual turnover of in excess of £100m. The company is currently growing year on year and has recently taken on new projects in the Glasgow Area. They have a friendly and personable team, have been trading many years and have low staff attrition My Client are now looking to recruit a HSE Advisor to provide assistance and ongoing HSE presence on site. The Role Reporting to the Regional HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will take responsibility for all site activities ensuring all HSE policies and procedures are met. The HSE advisor will ensure the HSE Management Systems are understood and used effectively at project delivery. The HSE advisor will ensure that the requirements of the management system are being applied on site and administrative offices, by means of periodic inspection, audits and meetings The HSE advisor will provide HSE training/awareness to the project teams as necessary and within the scope of own expertise The HSE advisor will proactively provide instruction and task specific advice to operational and managerial personnel The HSE advisor will investigate accidents/incidents and ensure lessons learnt are applied The HSE advisor will perform audits on safety and environmental risk areas The HSE advisor will ensure timely close out of actions from audits, inspections, accidents and incidents The HSE advisor will ensure compliance with methods and procedures at project level The HSE advisor will be champion for improving HSE performance via initiatives and rigorous application of HSE management systems The HSE advisor will contribute to the review and revision Project Specific of HSEQ policies, plans, documented procedures and forms. The HSE advisor will ensure Inspection and Testing requirements are maintained throughout our activities. The HSE advisor will ensure that all central management systems and checks are up to date. The Candidate The HSE advisor will have NEBOSH General or Construction The HSE advisor will have relevant site HSEQ experience in Civil Engineering/Marine/Jetty or Construction. The HSE advisor will demonstrable experience of completing internal audits, inspections and central management systems. The HSE advisor will have working knowledge of current and impending health & safety and environmental legislation The HSE advisor will ideally have experience on MOD projects and have/or be willing to obtain SC Clearance for future projects.
