Retail Manager (Charity)

Children’s Hospice South West is a registered charity dedicated to the provision of hospice care for life-limited children and their families in the South West.

Position: Shop Manager
Location: Bradley Stoke (commutable from Bristol, Thornbury and surrounding areas)
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 40 hours per week
Salary: £17,783 to £20,321 per annum

About the role:

We are looking for a Shop Manager who has the passion and leadership skills to motivate a team of staff and volunteers; and team members who are commercially aware, driven, well organised and hands on to maximise profits and generate stock, helping us raise valuable funds.


- Attract, recruit, train and develop a team of volunteers to ensure their understanding of their role and retail guidelines, to ensure the efficient running of the shop
- Organise volunteer rotas and allocate duties to ensure expected levels of service operational needs are met
- Achieve and exceed agreed targets by delivering effective pricing, stock rotation, weekly promotions and sales initiatives
- Demonstrate a good understanding of all donated stock lines, ensuring adequate stock levels at all times
- Produce regular weekly sales reports for Children's Hospice South West financial and data records
- To monitor and control all shop consumables and expenses to meet targets set
